Updated : March 19, 2021 PHILOSOPHY OF THE UNIVERSITY Nara Medical University was established to: train professionals to play leading roles in medicine, nursery, and related fields, promote their progress through the implementation of advanced research and health care at the international level, and contribute to community and human welfare.   Philosophies and Policies in each field Education Philosophy To train health care professionals with a strong sense of ethics and scientifically inquiring minds who: are rich in humanity, can actively interact with patients, other medical specialists, community residents, and people from other countries, and are determined to exert their best efforts to provide high-quality health care throughout their lives. Policy Implementation of a program to train excellent health care professionals Development of education skills of academic staff by ensuring the quality of education Evaluation of education in general by external experts and promotion of student participation Improvement of learning and educational environments Research Philosophy To apply the results of research to the provision of the highest quality of health care for patients to promote the health of people living in Nara Prefecture, and conduct innovative research to contribute to the progress of medicine. Policy Clarification of the basic research policy Enhancing the efficiency of research promotion systems Introduction of external evaluation of research Improvement of the health of people living in Nara Prefecture Health Care Philosophy To train health care professionals who are rich in humanity and can develop caring relationships with patients, in addition to providing safe, reliable, and high-quality health care as the final line of defense to protect those living in Nara Prefecture in close collaboration with the community.
